ARPL 2026 - Faire corps : La collection Volot s'invite au musée

In partnership with Auberive Abbey

The Museum of Art and History welcomes the Auberive Centre for Contemporary Art. Discover around twenty contemporary works that explore the body and its representation. Ernest Pignon-Ernest, Marc Petit, Lydie Arickx, Stéphane Blanquet, Louise Giamari, Joël-Peter Witkin…. are among the artists whose work here demonstrates the strength and coherence of the Volot Collection, now one of the largest private collections of contemporary figurative expressionist art and singular art in France.
Placed in dialogue with the museum’s permanent collections, the selected works echo one another, challenge one another and invent new meanings. The diversity of artistic media (sculptures, paintings, drawings, textiles), the variety of artistic approaches and their evocative power enable us to explore the body in motion, the suffering body, the hybrid body, the unveiled body...
