ARPL 2026 - Atelier philo d'Elsa Guest-Guiader

Ages 7 and over › Duration: 20 mins › No booking required

Being Born, Growing Old, Dying at 2.30 pm
My body changes over time, yet it remains my body. But how is that possible? Is this what we call the ‘human condition’? Is this what it means to be human? And how can we come to terms with the fact that one day, our bodies will cease to live?
With Elsa Guest-Guiader, senior lecturer in philosophy. She has been teaching in Haute-Marne for around fifteen years and regularly leads philosophy cafés and film discussions, notably at the Nouveau Relax.

Do we choose our bodies? at 2.55 pm
Tall, short, ugly or beautiful: do we choose our bodies? Could we choose a body just as we might choose an object? Or must we simply accept it? Yes, but how?
